Grease Monkeys is part of Hope Initiatives Registered charity number: 1145029
This project, founded by Hope Church Shrewsbury in 2009 and now part of Hope Initiatives, works with young people (currently 14 to 30 years) providing hands on mechanical experience through working on various vehicles such as a track day car and older vehicles without MOT over a 12 week period.

In addition the young people discuss life skills issues such as team work, budgeting and motivation in a relaxed manner over a hot drink.
Through gaining confidence and practical skills in a positive team building environment young people are being equipped for meaningful employment.

Grease Monkeys helps young people to travel from unemployment and disillusionment to entry level NVQ qualifications and work opportunities.
A word from Nick the Grease Monkeys manager.......
"Over the last two years that Grease Monkeys has been running, we have enjoyed many evenings meeting new people, making new friends, seeing people grow with new skills and having fun.

I would like to thank our team of volunteers for all their time and hard work they have put in and all the young people who have come to Grease Monkeys and made it such a pleasure to be part of. I'm looking forward to the future and what that holds."
A word from Tom a former Grease Monkey participant.......
"The volunteer staff were extremely friendly and I found that they had a vast range of experience, skill and expertise for me to learn from. The project also allowed me to meet new people in and around my age group, from all walks of life with whom I am now friends and still meet up with even though the 12 week course has finished."
